Someone over at Paulunteer.com noticed this, and it's quite amazing.  First Fox blatantly left Paul out of the New Hampshire round table debate, and now this.  Could they be any further from "fair and balanced"?  It's amazing that I once considered Fox to be less biased, or at least biased more in my direction.  It turns out that if you deviate from their party line at all - that is, the neoconservative Republican establishment (a relatively recent turn for Republicans) - all pretense of journalistic objectivity goes straight out the window.

Anyway, here's the "smoking gun".  First, from The International Herald Tribune:

Quote
The Associated Press
Published: January 3, 2008

CHEYENNE, Wyo.: Don't forget Wyoming.

It's been overlooked in the hoopla surrounding Thursday's Iowa caucuses and next week's New Hampshire primary, but Wyoming Republicans will caucus Saturday and choose delegates to the national convention in September.

Candidates have paid little attention to the state, though.

Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson, Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul have passed through since September. Mike Huckabee, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain have not.

"Yes, there have been some appearances by the candidates in this state that otherwise wouldn't have occurred this early in the process," said Jim King, who teaches political science at the University of Wyoming. "But candidates are where the media are — in Iowa and New Hampshire."

...

Now, Fox News:

Quote
by Associated Press
Thursday, January 3, 2008

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Don’t forget about Wyoming.

It’s been overlooked in the hoopla surrounding Thursday’s Iowa caucuses and next week’s New Hampshire primary, but Wyoming Republicans will caucus Saturday and choose delegates to the national convention in September.

Candidates have paid little attention to the state, though.

Only Mitt Romney, Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter have passed through since September.

“Yes, there have been some appearances by the candidates in this state that otherwise wouldn’t have occurred this early in the process,” said Jim King, who teaches political science at the University of Wyoming. “But candidates are where the media are — in Iowa and New Hampshire.”

...

Can anyone think of an innocent explanation?

Good find! Really Fox is unbelieveable.

They must think we wouldn't notice this? They must think the American public is stupid?

Ummm..... hmmm.... maybe. Watch this video:

Hmmm ... I'm no lawyer, but the notion of materially editing a given author's publication, citing the original author and failing to note where edits have occured, just doesn't pass the smell test. If it's really okay to do that, why why not just make the whole thing up and claim it came from AP? For that matter, why couldn't any quote be attributable to anyone? No ... it's clearly a foul.

Are there any journalists out there with knowledge of AP's usage policies? How do they feel about being misquoted like that? I imagine they should be interested in protecting their brand. Are there any lawyers out there inclined to help this backfire properly? It is clearly not ethical but my instincts tell me that it could so much more than merely embarassing.

We need to make it more than that, because they have no shame.

Faux news isn't the only ones who are Ronpaulophobic. Rudy has a forum in which it explicitly states in it's 'rules' that to even mention Ron's initials can get you banned. I kid you not. I invite one and all to go there and have some fun. The establishment is scared to death of Ron. And that's a good thing.

Paul supporters (Republicans) chasing down Hannity in the streets. Fox (Neocons) erasing opposition (Paul)  from within the party. A indicator of fascism being in its full swing is when the ruling party (neocon) "cleanses" it own who do not tow the line.

Historical perspective, The night of the long knives.

Wiki:The Night of the Long Knives (German: Nacht der langen Messer (help·info)) or "Operation Hummingbird", was a purge that took place in Nazi Germany between June 30 and July 2, 1934, when the Nazi regime executed at least 85 people for political reasons. Most of those killed were members of the "Storm Battalion" (SA) (German: Sturmabteilung), a Nazi paramilitary organization.

Thanks gingrich, delay, rove and friends for destroying the republican party. The democrats just could not pull it off.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

What a bunch of amateurs in Rudy's forums.  First rule on the list at http://rudygiulianiforum.com/showthread.php?t=30

+ There will be NO Ron Paul discussion. The Mod Authority Enforcement team will delete Ron Paul content and ban the offender if they persist with PRO-Ron Paul messages. Ron Paul is a cut & runner and an enemy of Authority. Discussion of him and his message has no place on this forum.

Damn right he's the enemy of (capital A) Authority.  Question is, who is said Authority Rudy's talking about, hmmm?

And ooooh, what an honor it must be to be a MOD on his forum.  So many people begging you to remove pro-Paul taunts; they revere the MOD.

(in whiny voice) "Ron Paul is a cut & runner -  Ron Paul is a cut & runner!"

What a shallow one trick pony this Rudy is.

Really?

That's an amazing revelation you've just had. How incredibly smart you must be to have picked up on such subtle hints as to the nature of FoxNews. Let libertarians everywhere now bask in the glow of your genius. I mean, it's not like it took ten years for you to figure out that Fox had an agenda, and that agenda had very little to do with journalism.

Oh, wait...it did take ten years. Ten long years of libertarians enjoying and supporting a network that seemed "biased in their direction" as long as it was advocating for the destruction of public schools and shamelessly promoting the sort of laissez-faire tax and economic policies that have sextupled our debt in less than 30 years. But then SHOCKED, you're SHOCKED, to discover that Fox will distort the truth and conveniently erase the very existence of your preferred candidate for President.

"But, Mr. Murdoch, we were there for you when the FCC thought about tighter media ownership! We fought for a hands-off policy toward media conglomerates, because, of course, government is bad. We agree with Neil Cavuto when he praises the Bush tax cuts! Why, Mr. Murdoch, why would you turn against us? You're supposed to be fair and balanced! Or at least balanced in favor of... Oh, wait a minute. Balanced in favor of...anyone...means... Ahh, shit."

Well you can choke on it, suckers!

Your nutty ideas about letting markets govern themselves, letting monopolies grow wherever they might, preventing the government from ever stepping in to protect the people...those ideas actually created NewsCorp and its various propaganda wings. Those ideas brought you corporate journalism. Those ideas kept your favorite racist loon - Ron Paul - from getting to "play" on the Fox Playground.

And now you're just plain indignant about the whole thing.

You wouldn't believe how we're laughing at you over on the left.  Our fucking sides are splitting.

This is on the ragged edge of being deleted, but whatever.  I don't really get your gripe about Fox though, since you, unlike us Paul supporters, have a huge menu of left leaning news outlets - pretty much everything besides Fox and AM radio.  I can see why you want the government involved though, because that leads to NPR, the most left leaning "news" outlet of them all.  Roll Eyes

Good of you Charles to keep this posted. Deletion is what Fox is doing to Paul.

Besides Air America, there are no left leaning News if you think about it. CNN, ABC, etc are a Fox in sheeps clothing. They are referred to as Fox lite. At least fox is a little more open about their bias. These others are truly messing with the left by pretending to be representative.

The proof being that all these outlets are towing the line for the status quo. You think the left is being served with stupid reality shows and gov't supplied talking points? What makes the MSM liberal in your view? Remember, they have given the Bush crooks a free pass.

The gripe about libertariens being slow and selective in picking up on how messed up and dangerous is faux noise is way legitimate.

The white people in Los Angeles, and all of America better think hard, close and karmically about minority rights. Because in LA white people are now a minority. The relative point being that Fox fans may have the boot on their neck one day. Won't be so fun when Cinton has the spying power that bush has. Or issues a siging statement with each new law passed. ad infinitum. Or has your child killed or legless in an oil war.

PS Bush and Clinton are not that far apart. Bill calls Barbara "Ma"

I guess it depends where your sensitivities are.  I find the MSM to be almost uniformly antagonistic to free markets and gun rights, uniformly un-skeptical about global warming, totally politically correct when it comes to race and sexuality issues, and most often hostile to Christians (though I'm not one, really).  They seem to favor bigger government in most all forms, except occasionally when it comes to civil liberties and free speech issues - in my mind that almost defines the modern liberal.

I don't know about you but I think that "all pretense of journalistic objectivity goes straight out the window" has applied to all media outlets be it newspaper, email, blog, anything on the Internet and television for at least the past 15 years. There is no such thing as an honest, unbiased journalist that reports all the views on any political issue or subject.

The only way to get the truth is to do your own research if you have the time. Believeing anything a journalist has written or said is like believing that Osama bin Laden is not a terrorist.

Gotta love this.  Notice how Paul is in 3rd (actually tied for second) and they don't show his pic:

All pretense of journalism goes straight out the window?  When did Fox News ever have it to begin with?  Believe me, I'm not saying any of the others have much of it either, but more and more of my friends are simply abandoning any hope of "fair and balanced" on ANY networked news broadcasts.

Ron Paul Added To NYTimes

Article By Writer Michael Kraft Author: Michael Kraft
Published: January 22, 2008

Well after the discovery that Ron Paul had been purposely omitted from the NYTimes coverage they finally put his name on their website. The New York Times online coverage of the primaries showed 8 candidates results in a neat chart, but did not even list Ron Paul as a cadidate. This continued even after Ron Paul had finished 2nd in Nevada.

Ron Paul has beat Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson in almost every primary thusfar, and the New York Times did not even put him on the website as a candidate.

Well, today they did add him finally. It was not a late attempt at integrity, but only becase Fred Thompson dropped out today leaving an extra slot.

You can now see him side by side with Rudy Giuliani who he has outperformed consistantly through the first 5 primaries.
